A new scientific study published in the Journal of Near Eastern Studies has revealed groundbreaking insights into the ancient Dilmun civilization. By analyzing three inscribed clay tokens discovered during archaeological excavations in the Kingdom of Bahrain, researchers have unlocked a clearer understanding of the civilization’s complex administrative and political structures. The excavations were carried out by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in close collaboration with a team of international experts. The project was led by Dr. Steffen Terp Laursen, a renowned specialist in the Dilmun civilization. This research marks a significant archaeological milestone for the entire Arabian Gulf region.
