The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) just announced the grand success of the first-ever Bahrain Summer Toy Festival 2024! Hosted at Exhibitions World Bahrain. This amazing event drew in more than 97,000 visitors from both the Kingdom and abroad!
Dana Osama Al Saad, Deputy CEO for Resources and Projects at BTEA, praised the collaborative efforts of government bodies and private sector partners. Highlighting how their teamwork made the festival a massive hit.
Al Saad pointed out how the festival gave a major boost to tourism and the hospitality sector across Bahrain. She’s excited about turning this into an annual event. Aligning with the Tourism Strategy 2022-2026 to keep growing the sector and hitting those big goals.
This summer’s toy festival didn’t just bring joy—it brought business! Hotel occupancy rates soared, and the Zallaq and Sakhir areas buzzed with increased tourism and commercial activity. Resorts, hotels, restaurants, cafes, and shops all enjoyed the influx of visitors.
The high turnout also benefited the participating businesses! And showcased BTEA’s dedication to supporting national enterprises through its events, especially those in tourism and hospitality.
Visitors from the GCC and local residents had a blast at the festival, with many sharing positive feedback.
The festival also made a meaningful social impact, welcoming children from various charitable organizations. Like the Royal Fund for Fallen Servicemen, the Bahrain Association for Parents and Friends of the Disabled, Al Sanabel Orphan Care Society, and the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society.
