Bahrain Urges UN Security Council to Hold Iran Accountable for Recent Attacks

Bahrain’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York has sent a letter to the Security Council strongly condemning Iranian drone attacks that targeted Bahraini territory in the early hours of June 27, 2026. The Kingdom described the attack as a serious violation of its sovereignty and a threat to the safety of citizens and residents, as well as international law and norms protecting civilians. The letter stated that Iran’s continued actions undermine regional and global efforts to reduce tensions and place responsibility on Tehran for destabilizing security in the region. It also referenced international commitments and a recent UN Security Council resolution supported by 136 member states, stressing that peace cannot be achieved through intimidation or aggression.

Bahrain reaffirmed its commitment to sovereignty and international law amid rising regional tensions.
