Hey everyone! Heads up – we’re in for a major heatwave by the end of this week in Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
The “Arab Weather Center” has just issued a warning about a severe heat wave starting next Wednesday. Temps are expected to soar to a scorching 50 degrees Celsius in several countries.
What’s happening? A high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere is set to intensify over our region by the weekend. This, combined with a deepening surface thermal low in the eastern Arabian Peninsula, means we’re in for some seriously hot weather.
Expect temperatures to spike significantly in Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. With most areas hitting the high 40s (Celsius). In some parts of Iraq, Kuwait, and eastern Saudi Arabia, we might even see temperatures reach that blistering 50 degrees Celsius mark.
The Arab Weather Center is advising everyone to avoid direct sunlight during the day and to stay hydrated. Make sure you’re drinking plenty of cold fluids and staying cool as much as possible.
Stay safe and take care in this extreme heat!
