Bit of a long flight
The world’s richest man, Jeff Bezos has his summer plans sorted.
Two weeks after he’s expected to step down as Amazon’s CEO, Bezos is going to be traveling to space with his brother in a Bezos-owned space exploration company Blue Origin rocket.
The rocket itself is called New Shepard, and it is reusable! There will be no pilots onboard, but has space for six passengers.
This is the first time the spacecraft will have passengers on it, in a capsule connected to the rocket – and it’s an emotional moment for the Bezos brothers. Jeff himself noted that it’s been his dream to see Earth from space since he was 5 years old, and now it’s coming true!
There are currently bids on a seat to accompany the two of them on the journey – and the highest bid at the moment stands at USD2.8 million, which is approximately BD1 million…

جيف بيزوس في رحلة جديدة وفريدة إلى الفضاء
أغنى رجل بالعالم يخطط لرحلته الصيفية هالسنة بطريقة مختلفة.
بعد أسبوعين بس من تقاعد بيزوس عن منصبه كرئيس تنفيذي في أمازون، راح يسافر للفضاء مع شقيقه في صاروخ بلو ستيشن الي تملكه شركة بيزوس لاستكشاف الفضاء.
واسم الصاروخ هو (نيو شيبرد)، وهو قابل لإعادة الاستخدام. وتخيلوا إن ما بيكون في طيارين بالمركبة لكن في مكان حق ٦ ركاب.
وهذي المرة الأولى الي راح يكون فيها ركاب على المركبة الفضائية – في كبسولة متصلة بالصاروخ. وتعتبر هذي لحظة عاطفية لأخوة بيزوس. وذكر بيزوس ان كان حلمه يشوف الأرض من الفضاء من كان عمره ٥ سنين، والحين أخيراً راح يحقق حلمه.
وحالياً في مزاد على مقعد في الرحلة لمرافقة بيزوس وشقيقه، وأعلى عرض حالياً وصل إلى ٢.٨ مليون دولار أمريكي، وهو ما يقارب ١ مليون دينار بحريني.
