Meet Fawaz Al Shaikh, the creative force behind the musical magic known as “Conference of Birds”!
Ever wondered how artists came up with their unique names?
For Fawaz, the inspiration came from a Coldplay song that struck a chord. Remember the catchy tune “A Head Full of Dreams”? Well, that’s where the name “Conference of Birds” took flight. And speaking of flight, this Bahraini musician is soaring high with his debut EP that’s making waves in the pop-rock scene.
Now let’s talk about that EP
Five songs make up his musical masterpiece: “Fly,” “Jasmine,” “Two Lost Boys on the Run,” “A Wild Heart at Sea,” and “Dire Choir.” Pop-rock vibes flow through each track, a genre Fawaz is completely obsessed with. He officially unleashed this musical treasure in February 2021.
His musical journey began way back when he was a school kid playing the piano and keyboards. Dreams of becoming an artist and releasing his own album always danced in his mind, and guess what? He made those dreams come true.
Fawaz takes pride in an achievement that sets him apart in Bahrain’s music scene. He’s the first and only Bahraini, so far, whose album was masterfully touched by the renowned Abbey Road Studios in London, thanks to the expertise of mastering engineer Oli Morgan. The recording and mixing magic happened at the hands of Abdulla Jamal from Soundman Studio in Bahrain.
What does Fawaz have to say to upcoming Bahraini artists?
Embrace hard work and discipline. Life isn’t perfect, but aiming for perfection keeps the passion alive. As for his own source of joy, it’s a toss-up between crafting melodies in his home studio and taking in the energy of a live audience.

Fawaz spills the tea on what’s next. He’s working on dropping his second album, set to be released in late 2024. Eight songs are in the works, with an interesting twist—a collaboration with an international artist. The details are on the low for now, but we’re so excited!
