The Ministry of Interior is currently in the process of training the first batch of Bahraini Female firefighters. This is a part of The Ministry’s effort to increase the number of women employed in all their departments.

Firefighting has long been a male-dominated field but these ladies are not phased by the challenges. Aisha Al Yasi, one of the trainees reflected on the situation saying:
For a long time now, women have been given the opportunity in Bahrain … all our colleagues here, the male colleagues, have been very supportive
