Things have definitely shifted
And we almost forgot what this time of year used to be like… Mustafa, a Bahraini photographer, brought back some shots he captured during Ramadan over the years, pre-Covid – highlighting some special moments we look forward to during the holy month. We all remember a Ramadan filled with crowds and people gathering at different spots around the island for Iftar and prayers – even though things have definitely felt a little different during the past couple of Ramadans.
The photographs capture the moments at Iftar, where people used to gather over a spread near the mosque, a togetherness out on the streets. Mustafa took different shots that create different storylines – moments or prayer, moments at Iftar, and Quran readings. Mustafa went on to describe Ramadan generally, in the caption of his post, talking about the rundown of our usual day from sunrise to sunset.
We all remember a Ramadan filled with crowds and people gathering at different spots around the island for Iftar and prayers. While things may be a little different this year – and of course, socially distanced – the essence of Ramadan is still the same – we’re all here for the food and night vibes.
Took you back for a few moments, didn’t we?
