Toastmasters International was formed as a non-profit organization back in 1924, with the main objective of helping men become better communicators, and essentially, better leaders. Today, it operates in more than 145 countries with over 16K clubs and more than 364K members!!
District 20 Toastmasters is the local chapter of the organization. It doesn’t only operate in Bahrain, but includes Kuwait as well and many multi-lingual clubs. The organization has hit several membership renewal milestones and will continue to do so this month, so this is everyone’s chance to get on board!!
Bahrain actually has one of the longest surviving toastmasters clubs in the region! Manama Toastmasters Club was established in 1964 and is still going strong today. Not just that, the first club in the Middle East was actually founded right here on our island
Joining Toastmasters is all about evolving as a communicator, as a professional and as a leader. It’s open to literally everyone; tenured managers, students, young professionals – all welcome! Since clubs are are run by members, leadership positions are offered voluntarily and they provide one of the best ways to gain experience around!

Toastmasters hosts an annual a competition season which starts out at the club level moving all the way up to the international level. This year’s District 20 Toastmasters Annual Conference will be under the patronage of HH Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad AlKhalifa! So if you’ve got the chops – better get started now…
