They say to always move forward and never look back but that’s not the case with this heritage site. This incredible fort that has withstood time and remains preserved on this island has been studied and researched the past 50 years and a lot of info on Bahrain’s past has been uncovered because of it.

Qal’at Al Bahrain is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most exciting landmarks you must visit on the island as well as one of the most important historic forts in the GCC!
Accompanying the fort is the site museum beside it which showcases over 500 artifacts and 5 galleries of historical periods arranged chronologically.
The surroundings are so picturesque and make for some amazing impromptu photo ops
Head there to check out this Snake Bowl from the Dilmun period circa 600-550 BCE
This bowl containing a snake’s skeleton wrapped around a pearl is thought to be a rare sacrifice practice to bring divine protection, fertility, and longevity.

This hidden treasure dates back from Alexander the Great’s expeditions around 325 B.C!
