Banksy, one of the world’s most famous and mysterious artists has debuted his next piece. Or should we say pieces? In the seaside towns of Suffolk and Norfolk in the UK, he went on a painting spree spattering the countryside with 10 pieces of intricate graffiti work.
In a video released by the artist himself, titled the “Great British Spraycation”, he is driving around in a very nondescript van. As always, the identity of the artist is well hidden and he has spray cans along for the ride.
The video has garnered quite a large viewership since it was released, as was expected with all his works. The pieces, which are both on public and private spaces revolve around a number of topics, from capitalism to the fickle nature of youth.
It wasn’t long ago that graffiti was seen as a nuisance and a menace to society. But Banksy’s works, even those on public land, are being preserved. Is this an effect of how he has lent relevance and respect to an art form? Or is it just because Banksy’s works immediately mean more tourism for an area?
Either way, Banksy is one of the few artists who has managed to capture the minds of both the general public and art critics in the 21st century.

بانكسي – الفنان العالمي الشهير موجود بمحاذاة شاطئ البحر
بدأ بانكسي، أحد أشهر الفنانين العالميين بغموضهم ، قطعته الفنية التالية. أو قطع بالأحرى؟ في مدينتي سوفولك ونورفولك الساحليتين في المملكة المتحدة ، رسم موجة من اللوحات الي تواجدت في الريف بمعدل عشر قطع من أعمال الجرافيتي المعقدة.
في مقطع فيديو أصدره الفنان نفسه ، بعنوان “Spraycation البريطاني العظيم” ، كان يقود سيارته. كما هو الحال دائمًا ، فإن هوية الفنان مخفية جيدًا ولديه علب رش طوال الرحلة.
حصد الفيديو نسبة مشاهدة كبيرة إلى حد ما منذ إصداره ، كما كان متوقعًا مع جميع أعماله. تدور القطع الموجودة في الأماكن العامة والخاصة حول عدد من الموضوعات ، من الرأسمالية إلى الطبيعة المتقلبة للشباب.
لم يمض وقت طويل على اعتبار الكتابة على الجدران مصدر إزعاج وتهديد للمجتمع. لكن أعمال بانكسي ، حتى تلك الموجودة على الأراضي العامة ، يتم الحفاظ عليها. لهذا تأثير على كيفية إضفاء صلة الاحترام للشكل فني. في معنى ثاني أن أعمال بانكسي تعني على الفور المزيد من السياحة في منطقة ما.
في كلتا الحالتين ، يعد بانكسي أحد الفنانين القلائل الذين تمكنوا من جذب عقول كل من عامة الناس ونقاد الفن في القرن الحادي والعشرين.
