Are We In 2050? Dubai Airport Is Now Using Facial Recognition At Passport Control

That’s right, no passports!

Still, carry your passports just in case… this sounds a little advanced for us!

Travelers going in and out of Dubai now have the option of using facial recognition at passport control instead of presenting their travel documents. The recognition system uses a 5-7 second iris scan to identify the traveler!

This technology is currently available in 122 smart gates in Dubai Airport. Passengers, however, have to pre register for this service – but it will enable them to get through passport control in just 9 seconds! Outbound passengers can use this service after checking in to their flights.

Is this the future?

We think so…
