Look Up! Bahrain’s Sky Will Light Up With a Stunning Moon, Venus and Jupiter Alignment This Week

The Sky Is Smiling!

A thin crescent Moon will glide past Venus and Jupiter in the western sky between May 18 and 20, creating one of the most stunning celestial sights visible to the naked eye in 2026! Step outside just after sunset this week and face west, you might catch a smilie up in the sky.

From May 18 to May 20, residents across the Kingdom will be able to witness the glowing trio shining brightly in the western sky shortly after sunset, creating one of the most photogenic astronomical events of 2026! The event is known as a planetary conjunction, where celestial bodies appear close together from Earth’s perspective. This week, a thin waxing crescent Moon will move across the evening sky, passing near Venus, often called the “Evening Star” due to its intense brightness, and Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system.

For viewers in Manama and across Bahrain, the best viewing window will be approximately 30 to 60 minutes after sunset. Astronomers recommend finding a location with a clear western horizon away from strong city lights for the clearest experience. Fret not, it’ll be clearly visible with the naked eye!

Oh SO Cute!
