No Free Passes: Netflix Is Cracking Down On Password Sharing

It’s getting real guys

Netflix is starting to enforce a password crackdown on it’s users. The streaming platform is rolling out two-factor authentication to its users that reads “If you don’t live with the owner of this account, you need your own to keep watching.” The message comes with the option to get the authentication code emailed or texted to the owner – which, if you’re not using your own account kinda backs you into a corner…

Netflix has ignored the issue of password sharing for a long time, as around 33% of their users share their account with at least one person. This test is an attempt to get more paying users to the platform.

So, who’s ready for those “can you send me the code” texts?
