Controversial moves
In the latest developments of the coronavirus pandemic, vaccine maker Pfizer-BioNTech has now begun distributing vaccines in a trial stage among children under 12 years old.
On Tuesday, the pharma giant announced an advancement in their Phase 2/3 using lower doses than those currently given to adults – with 10 micrograms of each dose given to kids between 5 and 11 years old, and 3 micrograms of each dose for those 5 and younger.
Today begins the Phase 2/3 part of our continuous study of the Pfizer – @BioNTech #COVID19 vaccine in healthy children. This is the next step allowing us to gather data to understand the safety and immunogenicity of the vaccine in this group aged 5–11 years.

Children have been considered as super-spreaders of the virus, unknowingly contracting it and passing the disease onto more susceptible segments of the population.

فايزر تعلن تجارب اللقاح على الأطفال تحت سن ١٢ عاماً
بدأت شركة Phizer-BioNTech بتوزيع اللقاحات في المرحلة التجريبية على الأطفال من هم تحت سن ١٢ عام – في آخر تطورات وباء فيروس كورونا.
أعلنت الشركة بالأمس يوم الثلاثاء، عن تقدم مرحلة التجارب إلى المرحلة الثانية باستخدام أقل من الجرعات التي تعطى حالياً للبالغين – بإعطاء ١٠ ميكروغرام من كل جرعة للأطفال اللذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين ٥ و١١ سنة، وإعطاء ٣ ميكروغرام من كل جرعة لأولئك من هم في سن الخامسة والأصغر منهم.
كما اعتبر الأطفال فائقين في سرعة انتشار الفيروس، وهم يصابون دون علمهم ويمررون الفيروس إلى أكبر عدد من السكان وهم أكثر عرضة للخطر.
